REVIEW-RAPE-X/MATT ROSITANO-LITTLE SISTER-COLLABORATION-CASSETTE

RAPE-X/MATT ROSITANO-LITTLE SISTER-COLLABORATION-CASSETTE
SELF RELEASED
POWER ELECTRONICS/HARSH NOISE/DEATH INDUSTRIAL
COMES IN A SMALL PLASTIC BAG WITH INSERT.
ON CLEAR CASSETTE WITH SPARKLY STAR STICKERS.
LIMITED TO 30 HAND NUMBERED COPIES.

SIDE A.)

I.) LITTLE SISTER:
So what we have here is one track.A nearly twenty minute collaboration
between the Harsh Power Electronics act RAPE-X and well respected
noisemonger Matt Rositano. This differs greatly from a lot of what RAPE-X
have done in the past and spends much of it's time focusing on a much more
dense and minimal sound."Little Sister" begins with low rumbling noise that
forms decayed rhythms as whispered vocals are heard echoing between the
empty spaces.Semi-distorted spoken vocals and sampled voices lurk and
creep around this shadowy realm. It feels like you are listening to recordings
of something that was meant to stay hidden.Like a murder confession done
soley for the killer's ears to hear.Like a personal record or audio diary. The
sounds here shift like sand in the wind and this entire peice feels just as
cold and desolate as a day spent in an empty desert. In this case that day
was most likely spent hiding a body or two far from prying eyes. There is
a sense of dread that fills this track. It's similar to the slower and creepier
tracks of NICOLE 12...Not quite Death Industrial but a little silent for P.E.
Shambling sub-bass movements crawl as the vocals become more warped,
deep and weird. They begin to sound more like growling beasts than human
at times.Conversations and muffled speech can be heard in the far distance
and burried beneath the massive waves that form the drones.Reverb and
delay are applied in perfect amounts to give this more of an empty and
unwelcoming feeling. This is a very meditative track...As in the perfect thing
to listen to while planning out a pre-meditated murder.Inhuman howls fill
the air like pitch-shifted or downtuned cries of victims in a state of fear or
agony."Little Sister" is a work to endure and suffer.A slow daze through a
drug enduced state of fear and hallucination.Daemonic growls in a murky
swamp of low drones and deep rhythms. The vocals morph into high shrieks
of panic and semi-distorted and very raspy screams.Like the cries of sick people
during fevered phantasms. At times this brings to mind the mental patient vocals
from STALAGGH.Screams that sound like they were generated from the senseless
speech of drooling retards or devolved invalids.Whatever you want to call it...This
shit is disturbing.Dark moaning synths and lo-fi rustling noises. It's almost as if the
track itself is restless and impatient.Throughout its duration it feels like you are
just waiting for something bad to happen and there is nothing you can do to prevent
it.It is hard to tell that RAPE-X was even involved in this considering that much of
their work is harsh, relentless and in your face. The only element that seems to remain
from them is the perversity and forbidden desires depicted on the album art.Everything
begins to wind down and fade away until there are only glitched out vocals in a looped
rhythm. These remain for a time until all is silent.

SIDE B.)

SIDE B IS BLANK...BUT THAT'S WHY THEY
INVENTED THE REWIND BUTTON KIDS.

THIS IS NOT ONLY AN INTERESTING COLLABORATION, BUT IT
SHOWS ANOTHER SIDE OF RAPE-X...PROOVING THAT THEY ARE
CAPABLE OF UNLEASHING FEAR AS WELL AS BRUTALLITY.TOGETHER
WITH MATT ROSITANO THEY CRAFT A DARK REALM OF UNDERGROUND
PERVERSION THAT VERY FEW ARE DEMENTED ENOUGH TO EXPLORE.

PROJECT: VOID-ENSLAVEMENT AND DEATH-CD
L.WHITE RECORDS-LW/078
POWER ELECTRONICS/DEATH INDUSTRIAL/BLACK NOISE
COMES IN A SLIM DVD STYLE CASE WITH ARTWORK.
LIMITED TO 200 COPIES.
PROJECT: VOID IS:
CORVUS REX (BLACK CROW KING/NDE/FURY 161)

I.) BELIEF I:
Church bells ring through static skies as a deep and distorted
dark ambient atmosphere slowly begins to engulf everything
around you.Like the darkness attempting to swallow a candles
light.Heavy electronics form drones as black as the night as odd
noises swirl in every direction like infected winds.Melodies are
obscured by cutting distortion thats as sharp as gleaming knives
ready for ritual. This is similar to some work by THEOLOGIAN in
many ways and is a slight departure from the previous styles heard
on the last PROJECT: VOID release.Electrical currents course like
blood through veins to carry the virus of this audio plague straight
to the heart.Everything becomes a Harsh Noise free for all as many
tones and textures gather in layers of fury.A violent symphony that
puts the Power into Power Electronics.

II.) EGOMANIA:
Strange electronics like what you would expect to hear in a Sci-Fi
thriller expand out over ultra deep and dense drones.Sort of along
the lines of some DISSECTING TABLE.High end pulses and shrill
feedback join the onslaught as blackened and distorted vocals in
a bitter and raspy tone spew fourth like projectile vomit. This is a
bad trip to Hell and back again. It feels like every sound, tone and
synth voice used is determined to rip you to peices and reduce you
to a state of pure terror. At times there are short pauses which only
make the following blasts seem even more dreadful.PROJECT: VOID
has manifested as absolute chaos with "Egomania."

III.) OPEN (SEE ME):
Sub-bass assaults and pounding bass drums.A mutated hybrid of
Death Industrial and the darkest Funeral Doom you can imagine
led by a vocalist that sounds like DARKTHRONE preaching to a
congregation of fallen angels.Grinding electronics fade into sudden
snare drums followed by slow drum beats and hissing cymbals. We
are then cast head first into utter darkness with a neat little transition
that brings to mind GNAW THEIR TONGUES during their darkest moments.
The following screams are drenched in dread and poison.Very little vocal effects
are used so the hate here is all natural.Epic symphonies accompany this slow
decent into the further reaches of death and decay.Like a rotting grave opened
wide to reveal the process of decomposition it holds.

IV.) PLAGUE:
If you were wondering what caused the previous rot and decay then
here is your answer.Screeching high end noise and feedback along
with synths laced in effects and distortion that strips them bare and
reduces them to skeletons.Vocals go from spoken to wretched screams
in a matter of seconds. This has a similar feeling to bands like DEMONOLOGISTS
or T.O.M.B. while sounding nothing like them at the same time. There is a stunning
display of orchestration on this album but it remains caked under years of dirt and
burried by time and dust.Like ghosts of epic themes from ages past.A reflection or
a glimpse into the times when plagues claimed countless lives and all was suffering
and death. The hidden beauty of this record is overwhelming at times when it chooses
to shine through the muck and violence.

V.) BELIEF II:
A continuation of track one that starts out in much the same way as part
one. This flawlessly carries the themes set up in part one throughout the
album. This is pretty much like an alternate version of the track featured
previously only here it contains vocals that spill out like venomous gasps
of toxic air.Layered vocal attacks echo in the air like specters of previous
possessions. There is nothing here that sounds "safe" or "inviting".This is
pretty much pure horror and bloodshed.Distant drums come and go sounding
like battlefield explosions as bubbling and frothing electronics drip in rabid
bloodlust.Moaning wraiths consisting of noise and wind are heard screaming
in agony.Disembodied and horrid. There is something very haunting about this
track as well as much of the others here.A disturbing feeling of discomfort that
creeps in and settles in for a long period.Uninvited and malignant.

VI.) BIRTH:
Soft but eerie whispers stretch out over a dense void of dark ambient movement.
All at once you are startled by pulsating electronics followed by ultra raw screams
and Harsh Noise. The bass and mids seem to be cut out here and it is an all out attack
against your endurance and sanity.Feedback and warped electronics add nothing but
further discomfort and pain. This one will leave your ears ringing for days to come. The
vocals are absolutely putrid.Whatever unholy entity created this track hates you in every
way shape and form and does not hold back at all in showing it.If these were the emotions
and feelings of birth then I am really fucking glad I don't remember of it.This isn't Harsh
noise...This is severe trauma.

VII.) GLORY:
Spoken samples concerning the art of war and inflicting pain on the enemy open the
track. These are repeated through various effects and filters as a slow death march begins.
Dense distorted rhythms and ultra thick and heavy synths flood the battlefield as the vocals
begin to rally the troops with promises of honor and glory. The vocals are deeper here and have
a Death Doom feeling to them like early PARADISE LOST or DISEMBOWELMENT.This particular
track sounds huge and has an epic feeling to it.Machine gun fire,Bursting bombs,Rocket attacks,The
sounds of emergency alarms and helicopter flight overhead takes the place of what was before and
leads us into a section of glitched out drum beats and blasts along with both deep and harsh electronics.
Blackened vocals narrate the horrors of war with lines like "Limbs hanging like decorations."This track is
soaked with blood, ash, debris and death and ends with a BANG!

VIII.) BONESAW:
This begins with some of the loudest and heaviest bass drums I have ever heard and quickly
takes a turn for the worst.I think this may be the harshest track on the album. It literally sounds
like bonesaws were ran through distortion and put to work on living subjects. The drums return
with vocals laced in feedback, distortion and blackened violence.Distant synths add surreal and
beautiful tones that create a massive mindfuck for the listener. It sounds like gentle ambient neath
a Harsh Noise track with 90's Black Metal vocals.Sound interesting? I'd hope so cause it is.A true
cacophony of the sounds of the underground blended together flawlessly and delivered in perfect
execution.Rumbling noise like a steam powered construction vehicle falling off a cliff can be heard
in all of it's clanging and banging glory.Again brief pauses are present to offer a small window to catch
your breath before the next drop on this roller coaster ride of pain.Buckle in kids...The end is near.

IX.) BELIEF III:
The final chapter in this black book.Part III is like a combination of the
first two chapters ran through a shredder and cast into a blazing inferno.
All the previous themes are present but this time they are all skinned alive
and subjected to the torture rack.Huge synths and loud feedback along with
charred distortion and screams as black as ash.Towards the end the church
bells return and ring in woe as volcanic screams erupt along side them. For
those of you new to this band..."Enslavement and Death" is the second
PROJECT: VOID release.Everything that made the first album great is present
on this one but here we are treated to twice as much scorn and fire.It is almost
like the first record was a build up to the explosion of violece that was unleashed
here.If you already know PROJECT: VOID then you will not be dissapointed. If you
have yet to check it out then this is a great place to start.

THE SOPHMORE RELEASE BY PROJECT: VOID PROOVES THAT THIS IS A BAND
WITH MORE THAN ONE TRICK UP IT'S SLEEVE.A BLISTERING AND VIOLENT
MIX OF POWERFUL ELECTRONICS AND BRUTAL DEATH INDUSTRIAL WITH
A BLACK METAL ATTITUDE:

CHOREBOY RECORDS
POWER ELECTRONICS/HARSH NOISE
COMES IN A LARGE TRANSPARENT PLASTIC
CASE WITH INSERT.LIMITED TO 50 HAND
NUMBERED COPIES ON PURPLE CASSETTE.
MASTERED BY: JOHN STILLINGS

SIDE A.) RAPE-X

I.) THESE DRUGS AREN'T WORKING /
II.) COST / III.) PEP TALK / IV.) KILLING IS EASY:

Get ready for about twenty minutes of pain with the
RAPE-X contribution to this split between two of the
dirtiest sounding bands in Power Electronics.RAPE-X
are like the P.E. equivalent of all that fucked up and
perverse Grindcore out there filling peoples heads with
tunes filth,lust,rape and murder...Only RAPE-X sound a
lot worse (In the best possible way!) Here they present
us with four tracks of pure audio bile that would make
your parents disown you and cause your grandparents to
go into a foamy mouthed fit all the way to the grave. We
start with ascending electronics that climb up out of the
sewer and reach out to drag you back down with them.
Hits of static and violently screamed vocals back up the
claim that the drugs are no longer working. These guys
keep it short and pissed the fuck off.Track two starts out
with a weird low rumbling electronic pulse and echoing
vocals that boom in your ears. This reminds me of a more
Lo-Fi SUTCLIFFE JUGEND.Lyrics regarding kidnappings
and all the fun that comes with em.These guys are pure
rage and agression...One of the angriest P.E. bands you
will hear and that's saying a lot."Pep Talk" is a gnarly lil
number of warped phasers and weird ass wet sounds along
with harsh static and harsher vocals. You know those neighbors
you hear fighting at three in the fucking morning? Those dudes
that come home in a drunken rage and throw lamps at their wives?
Well imagine if that dude was the vocalist of a seriously deranged P.E.
band and you'll have an idea of what RAPE-X sounds like. The final track
on the A side is my personal favorite.Huge blasts of distortion in crushing
waves. They form a Martial Industrial type of rhythm and utterly annihilate
everything in their path.Spoken word samples are thrown in the mix to back
up the statement that "killing is easy." This most certainly kills and is one of
my favorite releases featuring these guys so far.

SIDE B.) SWOLLEN ORGANS

V.) DON'T FUCKING MOVE / VI.) BURDEN /
VII.) DEAD GAZE / VIII.) SEX LIMP:

SWOLLEN ORGANS is a working class Power Electronics project
fuelled by rage and the types of thoughts that build during a hard
day on the job. This right here is the true voice of America boys and
girls. We begin with grinding electronics on the extreme side of Lo-Fi.
The vocals sound totally fed up and come as asphyxiated gasps in a tone
of pure desperation.SWOLLEN ORGANS makes P.E. for people who have
just reached that state past the breaking point where all caution is discarded
and the guns are pointed.Rhythmic noise begins and sounds like a mechanical
workhorse carrying the burdens of countless fuck ups and tossing them into a
meat grinder. The fucks that were once given have ran dry and this is mirrored
by the sandpaper dry vocals which come in raspy shouts.High anxiety at the very
height of insanity. This isn't the heaviest stuff out there but it is really harsh in terms
of quality and delivery. This stuff is like sand in a fresh wound. It grinds every gritty
truth of reality until it's a fine powder and then throws it in your face. There is a pretty
good balance of distortion, rhythm and high end torture. All of this accompanied and
complimented by some truly strung out sounding vocals. Each track is short and to the
point.Gets in...Fucks shit up...Then gets the fuck out.The final track on the B side is a
neat one.Rumbling sub-bass rhythms and low and deep spoken vocals.strange sounds
slice through your senses and threaten your comfort as perverse lyrics are recited like
an unappropriate bed time story.I recommend listening to this when you need to unwind
from a hard day and let all the bullshit of the world slowly melt away.Noise that sounds
like creaking wood along with pulsating electric lazers in rapid fire close the track and
the split as well.

A GREAT PAIRING OF TWO ARTISTS WHO ARE NOT AFRAID TO SPEAK THEIR
MINDS THAT DO SO ALONG TO A SOUNDTRACK OF STATIC AND SHRAPNEL.
WELL WORTH AQUIRING A COPY OF AND SURE TO SEE HEAVY ROTATION
AND REPEATED LISTENS:

REVIEW-THE VOMIT ARSONIST-WRETCH-CD

THE VOMIT ARSONIST-WRETCH-CD
CIPHER PRODUCTIONS/FORCE OF NATURE-SIC057/FON19
DEATH INDUSTRIAL/POWER ELECTRONICS/HARSH NOISE
COMES IN A SLIM CARDBOARD SLEEVE WITH INSERT.
THE VOMIT ARSONIST IS:
ANDREW GRANT

I.) THE WARM BODY COMPLEX:
Anybody who has followed our blog knows that THE VOMIT ARSONIST
is close to as good as it gets in the Power Electronics/Death Industrial Scene.
"Wretch" was released around 2007 and is considered the finest output from
TVA by some.We are certainly not dissapointed in any way by this beast of
an album. We start with a silent gathering of static rhythms and moaning
ambience that slowly builds and gains momentum.Strange nocturnal tones
fill the air like the haunting hum of a distant highway in the dead of the night.
Ghostly wraiths dance among deep and churning bass work.A darkness like a bow
being slowly dragged across a cello prepares us for whats to come.Vocals barrage
the listener and sound like they are running at you through a narrow hallway.Once
they arrive they slam you in the teeth like a head on collision.Sampled voices add
to the errie vibe and threatening atmosphere that Andrew Grant has conjured up
here.Grinding, digging noises crawl in the background like carrion searching for a
fresh corpse.Suddenly we are attacked with huge blasts of thick, deep and distorted
synths.Pure dread and coming bloodshed. If your into stuff like THEOLOGIAN, STEEL
HOOK PROSTHESES or NYODENE D then you need this record if you don't have it yet.
The scratching of vermin in a looped rhythm close the first chapter. This isn't gonna be a
walk in the park kids.

II.) UNTIL DEATH:
Deep and low.Synths in an endless yawn. This wraps itself around you like the darkest
shadows that consume your bedroom after lights out. There is a heavy atmosphere that
warns of something bad on the horizon.Soft and almost silent spoken words recite passages
not meant to be spoken during the light of day.Buzzing static and distant percussions.Chains
rattle and metallic objects screech like heavy iron gates being forced open after countless years
of silent rust.Metal pipes drag across concrete floors and the walls perspire with blood. It sounds
like your trapped in the dungeon of some sadistic bastard that has a lot of wicked things in store
for you."Until Death" sounds isolated and hopeless.Harsh vocals are screamed through heavy
distortion and echo on as metallic rhythms and swinging chains fill the air with despair. There
best way to sum up the vibe of this track is with one word...Negativity.

III.) A MOMENT OF CLARITY:
Something stirs from deep underground.Sub-bass and scratching noises like nails
on soil.Like someone has been burried alive.Dark and beautiful synth drones stretch
out as harsh static and high end chirps and feedback mimick the panic of whoever is
suffering in a state of premature burial. The volume increases with each passing moment.
Like the reality of the situation becoming more and more real and serious. The atmosphere
is thick, stale and suffocating as your oxygen supply is depleted more and more.Frenzied
screams are trapped beneath the surface and come in asphyxiated attempts to be heard.
You will die terrified and alone as a chorus of nails on chalkboards usher you into death.

IV.) TIME PASSING:
Giant rhythms like massive drums of oil being dragged around by some unseen beast.
Chilling ambience in an atmosphere as cold and empty as death.Synths pulse through
a fog of white noise and the breath of the night comes to still yours away. This is 100%
Death Industrial with an added bonus. What sounds like either reverb drenched guitar
leads or excellently crafted and constructed feedback can be heard playing a short and
somber song of woe.A few last measures of percussions and times up.

V.) THE LIGHT:
Surreal and calming synths play a comforting peice of pure tranquillity.Being that
this is THE VOMIT ARSONIST your not gonna get off that easy though.Crunching
static and deep bass movements accompany this. It's almost like two faces of a coin
being unleashed at once.Crashing percussions and hissing steam attempt to ruin your
little moment of rest but the light flowing synths seem to be competing for the spot-
light.Noise can be soothing and this is proof of just that.Gentle synths ascend towards
the heavens as rising noises try to grind them back down into the dust. This is probably
the most interesting track on the album because of the way the contrasting tones both
compliment and attack one another.Loud vocals filled with rage and aggression appear
in a sudden storm adding yet another face to this beast of multiple heads and forms. The
fact that I can't really think of anyone else to compare this to just goes to show how unique
and original this particular track is.We hear a return of the ascending tones as they rise with
the force of great eagles towards the sky and then fall back to earth in a fight of tangled claws
and splattered blood. It never becomes clear who was victorious but it seems like a fight to the
death ending in a double fatality.

VI.) BEATING AND TWITCHING:
All the rage and brutallity that was held back on the previous track makes it's presence known
here.Roaring inferno's of static and scratching noise.Deep sub-bass movements that shake the
very bowels of the earth.A thick haze of pitch black synths and harsh vocals that sound beyond
pissed. Some truly sinister ambience can be heard. It sounds like a giant entity of unknown form
is breathing down your neck as it slowy awakens from a great slumber. The very breath of evil.
Noise like the scurrying of a thousand disease ridden rats can be heard coming from every direction
at once. They come as a cloud of disease and leave gnawing on your remains.Sharp feedback strikes
and stabs in quick slashes. This will fuck you up devour you and spit you out...Only to fuck your gnarled
body until your left beating and twitching.

VII.) POWER:
The closing track is a fucking monster. This is at least twice as leathel as the previous onslaught and
quite possibly the fiercest song TVA has done.Blasts of life threatening noise and harsh frequencies
on the high end. This shit ends with a bang...A big one! The vocals sound like commands of terrorists
as they force you to face the wall and get on your fucking knees...And your pretty much just left like
this for the duration of the track...Waiting in fear for that final bullet.Everything that goes into making
a good Harsh Noise track is present here.At times things quiet down for brief moments but only to be
thrown head first into even deadlier blasts of audio torment.Towards the end all dies down and this turns
into clawing rhythms like what was heard in the third track joined by the strange and haunting atmosphere
of track one. This ties everything together and keeps the overall "theme" of the record going as well as brings
it to a nice close that makes it feel like a part of a whole rather than a harsh track just for the fuck of it.One
of the strong points of this album is that it offers a variety of things to experience without straying to far from
what it is.

THIS ALBUM IS ESSENTIAL...WETHER YOUR INTO OLDSCHOOL DEATH INDUSTRIAL OR
NEWSCHOOL VIOLENCE..."WRETCH" HAS SOMETHING TO OFFER YOU.THIS IS PROBABLY
THE HEAVIEST ALBUM THE VOMIT ARSONIST HAS PUT OUT SO FAR...AND BE SURE TO PICK
UP A COPY OF "THE FINAL PAGE" AN E.P. MEANT TO ACCOMPANY THIS ALBUM.YOU CAN GET

REVIEW-BEREFT-YOUR MESSIAH WILL FAIL-CD

BEREFT-YOUR MESSIAH WILL FAIL-CD
BLOODLUST! RECORDS-B!143
POWER ELECTRONICS/HARSH NOISE/DEATH INDUSTRIAL
COMES IN A JEWEL CASE WITH INSERT.
LIMITED TO 250 COPIES.
BEREFT IS:
PETER LEE
ANDREW GRANT

I.) HIDDEN AGENDA:
If your new to BEREFT or your first experience with them was there
most recent tape...Keep in mind that this is an earlier album.Comparing
their work from here to now is a great way to see the evolution of a noise
band and an enoyable experience for the listener.Either way you can't go
wrong with anything they have done. From out of the silence come creeping
synths that have been lurking in wait.Suddenly, we are hit with a wall of static
and lo-fi synth drones.Ripping electronics guide you into distorted vocals with
a Black Metal edge that come at you with swirling feedback.Grinding noise with
an agenda to satisfy and terrify you at the same time.Uneasy rhythms that make
your stomach turn and induce a state of vertigo and anxiety close track one and
then we dive into the fifteen minute epic that is to follow.

II.) YOUR MESSIAH WILL FAIL:
Buzzing noise and rhythms that sound like they were created by slamming a hammer
against a humming electrical box.Strange sounds come at you from every direction like
unseen alien predators closing in on their kill.Deep vocals in a whirlwhind of daggers fly
at your face and slice you open with each strike.Your in for a long ride of suffering kids so
I hope you called your mothers and brought a change of pants.Gurgling electronic filth
circles the drain then vanishes.Steady rhythms carry you from one level of Hell into the
next.Corroded noise falls like acid rain stripping your flesh as BEREFT prepares to salt the
wounds and twist the knife. The "persuccions" from the beginning grow in volume as do the
vocals. Now they come a little clearer at times so you can hear the hate in the tone of Peter
Lee's voice.Down tuned and daemonic. There is a militant sort of vibe to the slow shambling
march of the tempo and the rapid fire noise assaults that come and go as they please.Harsh
high end noise and mind numbing feedback torture you like a POW on the wrong side of the
tracks.Crumbling distortion is heard as the world around you falls to oblivion.Welcome to a
Hell hole of ransack and radiation. You are now in the belly of the beast and it doesn't look
like the rescue time survived the last seven minutes so I guess your fucked. One thing that
seperates this album from much of the others from BEREFT is that this one seems to focus
on instrumental tracks.Even the tracks with vocals spend long periods of time in pure sound.
Buzzsaws and grinders reduce you to bloodied bits and then leave your corpse out for the rats.
Long intervals of high pitched feedback come to kick whats left of your teeth in and suffocate
any remaining life from your body.Things get even more intense in the last few minutes and take
you on a ride through suffering and stop at every place of torment along the way.War is Hell...And
BEREFT are war against humanity.

III.) JUST ONE BULLET:
Oldschool sounding Power Electronics. Both minimal and immense at the same time.Dense semi-
distorted synths and high end madness.Sharp blades of high end noise spin like a blender with your
arm stuck in it.It sounds like BEREFT are using power tools as well as electronic instruments to kick
your fucking ass.Feedback comes and fades into low drones as highly distorted vocals spew a few short
verses of rage. With this one BEREFT kicks the door down...Creates a disaster and gets the fuck out before
any sort of authorities or clean up crew arrive on the scene. As usual leaving a trail of broken bodies in their
wake.

IV.) NO CHANGE IN SIGHT:
Snaps of electricity flash before you in blinding brilliance. They help to form a rhythm that flows,
breaks apart and reforms whenever it sees fit.Secondary rhythms come at timed intervals in blasts
of bass and distortion. This is the type of stuff that will either relax you or drive you fucking nuts
depending on what type of person you are.Things get louder and heavier as a variety of tones and
textures are thrown into the mix. This doesn't sound like random noise however. This is carefully
crafted and constructed. There is a flow and a certain movement that was intended.Of course there
is always room for improvising in Power Electronics and I am sure at least some of this was formed
that way...But not to the point of sounding sloppy or like an after thought. Some very loud and highly
distorted vocals come in quick attacks followed by a raging electric storm. The following barrage of
vocals is fierce as fuck with a spiteful take no prisoners leave no witnesses sort of attitude.Wailing
feedback dances inbetween the words and it is with a long stretch of feedback that track four ends.

V.) GRINDING OUT:
Another fairly long track...Clocking in at close to eight minutes long.Rumbling and warped
electronics in strange tones grinding beneath high pitched feedback laced in reverb.Deep
distortion follows and creates decaying and eroded rhythms that gnaw at your ears and
dig their way deep inside like parasites choosing a host."Grinding Out" is a very fitting
title as it literally feels like something is grinding out chunks of your skull and chewing
on them.Noise like the tearing of flesh and ripping of muscle from bone is heard and makes
it's own pattern of pain in a steady dose.Though this album spends much of it's time dwelling
in instrumental passages it never seems dull or boring. Each track is interesting and unique in
it's own way while flowing together at the same time...All but the final track in a way but we
will get to that later.Heavy electronics begin to flow like an undercurrent or a pulse beneath
the multiple layers of raw and stripped bare noise that form the peice. All fades into a river of
high frequency torture to loose yourself in.Ringing and covered with delay and reverb. This is
heard until the end and fades out into silence.

VI.) A WALL OF PROMISES:
Rising static and rhythms that repeat like a broken record skipping in frustration.Feedback
soars to highs and swoops down in a clawed attack...Repeating like an imprinted memory
of some traumatic event playing over and over again.A balance of rhythm and harsh tones
and textures seem to be BEREFT's direction for this particular release and they really show
how much they can excell in that style on this one.The distortion is so thick at times that
the synths almost sound like electric guitars.Fuzzed out and full of energy. The type of vibe
you get from a really noisey Black Metal demo tape.Screeching electronics hiss like white
hot fire and really hold that note at the end.I have said this about several albums before and
it is true here as well. This is an endurance test.Only a handfull of people can enjoy this sort
of thing and the one's who do really do...So if this is your thing than I highly recommend this
one.

VII.) NO CHOICE/VICTIM:
This one is pretty heavy right out the gates.Again we have some really kickass rhythmic
noise. This time with thick synths and a little on the deeper darker side. There is still a
shit ton of brain frying feedback but here it all seems to be formed via microphone.
Distorted vocals come raw and raspy. It sounds like Peter Lee has a throat full of sand
slowly turning into glass.Nerve shredding noise grows thick like a swarm of wasps.
Each one stinging you right in the fucking ear cannals. There are also a lot more vocals
here than on previous tracks. It sounds like Peter Lee really took this one as a chance to
just fucking unleash all of his anger and hatred. It must have been building up for a long
time cause when he lets loose he doesn't hold back.Swirling electronics form around the
swarms from earlier and mix to make a deadly cloud of pure death thats heading for your
jugular. For a little over six minutes you are bombarded by this living plague. The end is
nigh.

VIII.) RESOLUTION:
The closing track is a lot different from the rest of the album, however the record
doesn't seem to suffer from this at all.Ultra high pitched ringing noise with other-
wordly chimes. It sounds like an amplified soundtrack from some old 1950's Sci-Fi
film.Like a Power Electronics re-interpretation of backing music from Lost in Space
or something similar. We are lost in this field of cosmic weirdness for over ten minutes.
This is both the quietest and the most difficult track to listen to.Soothing and nerve
wrecking at the same time.Gloomy ambience mopes in depression beneath shrill
ringing signals that stretch endlessly.Distorted rhythms churn in the distance and
things fade out a little bit for a while. You get a brief moment to gather your wits
before the feedback returns in full swing.Church-like organs practice for your coming
funeral and then drop into silence. Here comes the pain again. It's almost like a stripped
down re-working of some of the ideas of the previous tracks.Stretched out with the volume
cranked up til the knob breaks off.Don't worry too much...BEREFT were nice enough to mix
it up so it's not unbearable. We shift into another realm of Sci-Fi weirdness. It sounds like the
first few moments after arriving on some alien world.Odd and curious synths that could have
been taken right off an old reel from a drive in cinema. Some of you may be thrown off by this
track but I think of it as just another side of what BEREFT can do and feel privillaged to have it
included on the album. This one is certainly a trip...But a very enjoyable one.

I WOULD HOPE THAT BEREFT IS A NAME YOU KNOW WELL.IF NOT THIS IS
A GREAT PLACE TO START.HEAVY ELECTRONICS TO BRING YOU A LONG
HARD LOOK AT A HARSH REALITY:
