SIDE A.)

I.) (UNTITLED) COLD SHOTS SIDE I:
Low roaring begins in the midst of trees in the deep of nowhere.
A desolate place not to be found on a map of any sort.Such a place
must be remembered...A place where the atmosphere itself breaths
deep into the soul and stays with you like a lucid and vivid dream.
Surreal and real all at once. This is dark ambience that digs within,
Carves out a place to dwell and thrive and births a million emotions
deep within the host...The winds rush through the trees taking the leaves
to flight.Low ambience flows through your thoughts like the chilly autumn
breeze through your clothes and hair...It is the season of autumn that Cold
Shots concerns itself with. These hazy passages are not only done in tribute
of the time of Autumn but to invoke it for the listener no matter what time
of year it may be.Just close your eyes and listen now.Remember that elegant
scent of decay.the winds clear the air only then to bring about the rain for a
deeper cleansing. The sounds of static rush through the air like dead and rustling
leaves.Rain drops on every leaf as each one falls heavy to the ground. The tempo
picks up like a racing heart beat until it comes to a halt. This is that serious moment
when your breath stops out of fear....A fear that sets in when unknown creatures are
heard shambling through the dead leaves on a dark night...Out of site but not out of
mind. The emotions invoked and provoked here are much like what you feel when you
know you are being watched...You turn around and around til branches crack and pull
your focus on a certain direction. You can sense something creeping closer more as more
dead twigs crack and pop beneath a heavy blanket of  Fall leaves...Now you are greeted
with only your own imagination playing tricks on you.Millions of images are conjured up
while engaged in this album...And this is an album that engages the listener as well as allows
and makes them drift in an almost trance like state.Music to accompany a time when you are
lost and worried as all looks the same out here. All is dead or dying but at the same time that
very stillness...The quiet of death and slow decay is immense and beautiful...Yes beautiful death
and it's many wonderous colours paint the canvas that makes up this portrait of peace and rot.
The sound pics up and you catch your mind racing through the rain and through the countless,
winding  Autumn trees. You begin to become enthralled in what sounds like almost tribal noise.
Every little intricate layer and texture applied to create sounds of long screeching like screams from
the heart of the forest distorted in the winds and freezing rain.Cold Shots sets your surroundings and
transports you to a whole new environment. There is so much going on that it would be a shame to miss
even a second.Experimentation with multiple effects and tones really pays off in these dark and moody
soundscapes.Everything is mixed and blended seemlesly and with an excellent sense of timing as well
as a great display in overall execution.Truly a pleasure to review. It is often said that books can be windows
to other worlds...The same can be said for Cold Shots.

SIDE B.)

II.) (UNTITLED) COLD SHOTS SIDE II:
Water circles the drain in a gutter on a cold city street.A thunderstorm approaches and it
almost sounds like a giant wood wheel is turning like that of an abandoned windmill.
The sounds of creaking dry wood on a turniquet. You can hear the sounds of low breathing
as the music itself once again starts becoming alive...Moaning with long howls as the lightning
peirces the sky and echoes across the land. You can feel the vibrations in your chest as all the world
around you is awakening from an ancient primal slumber. For some moments it almost sounds like
the foot falls of ancient Apache dancers. With every foot they pound to the ground with the steady beat
of the drum as they pray and dance.Like an ancient ceremony that hynotizes you with singing and a loud
gathering of noise.Suddenly all grows silent...Sounds unheard in ancient times begin. The roots are digging
in the ground like mechanic drills far too large for a single man to control.Throbbing and pulsating synths
weave through the air as the woods communicate with the speech of birds and other animals carried with the
wind.It truly takes a gift to capture what SHARPWAIST and MARABOU STORK have managed to do together.
As far as collaborations go this is top notch stuff...We now hear the sounds of slow playing cellos on a rainy day.
They reverberate and hang in the air as if played in an empty lighthouse or stone structure.Warm and natural
ambience. It is almost as if the music forms a soft glowing light that slowly pass across the walls like passing
headlights through the window. The sad but comforting cellos play on capturing you like a siren in it's sad song.
These songs and passages pull and tug at the strings of your mind...Taking you deeper in as time melts away.

THIS TRULY TRANSPORTS YOU TO ANOTHER WORLD.
INSTANT PEACE AND TRANQUILITY WITH HINTS OF
DANGER AND ADVENTURE:
