REVIEW: WARMTH/ROBE-SPLIT 7 INCH

WARMTH/ROBE-SPLIT 7 INCH
BLACK HORIZONS RECORDS-BH-10
DARK AMBIENT/DRONE DOOM/NOIZE-U.S.A.
Offset printed silver on black linen paper sleeves,
hand-cut into a cross shape,
folded and sealed with a wax stamp in an edition of 300 copies on black vinyl.

SILVER SIDE: WARMTH-SHE WENT:

Pitch black torture chamber drone.Scraping metal combined with
lush dark ambience. The bands name is fitting as this has a "warm"
feel to it.Warm like a burning oven in a dingy basement where one
would not like to find themselves.Dripping water and turning waves
of deep void-like sounds.A few shimmering traces of light.A strange
buzzing.She went,I don't know where but she's gone.And we flip over
to see what ROBE has contributed to this release.

BLACK SIDE: ROBE-SUBMERGE:

And we submerge.Winds hum through metal pipes.Horns sound and Metal
drags across the floor.More frantic by the moment. This sounds like
the soundtrack to a horror film from the 1950's.Ominouse and forboding.
This is a great dark ambient track.Anxiety rises as the hums become
howls and the dragging metal begins to clang. The sounds here are eerie
and have the feeling of nausea induced by a rusty carnival ride.It sounds
as if something is being washed down a drain and the track ends leaving us
submerged.

THIS IS A PERFECT PAIRING FOR A SPLIT RELEASE:
7/10
